The XAV-AX5500 builds on the best-selling AX5000 by offering the addition of Weblink cast which allows screen mirroring from Android and iOS devices (Weblink Host app required). The AX5500 also has improved RCA preouts for anyone considering adding an amplifier as it now offers 5V preamp rather than 2V. Visually the two devices are nearly identical with the XAV-AX5500 having a slightly darker colour to the bezel. From an installer's perspective, both are simple to install with the XAV-AX5500 having a slight advantage thanks to it's short USB extensions which give the installer more flexibility and less bulk. Boot up times are also faster on the 5500.
