The GR Supra is a platform with a lot of potential in stock form but with a few major shortcomings that hold it back on track. Out of the box, the brakes and drivetrain cooling are actually great for a stock car. Where we see the car fall flat are the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, chassis tuning, and alignment. Factory alignment is usually all over the place and makes the car feel very loose even for street driving.
Stage 1 Package Features:
Here is a package that we feel gets this car very competitive for $2000 CAD, all installation and materials costs are included! We had great results on our shop car with this baseline configuration and found significant improvements over stock testing.
For those who are wanting to take the track performance a bit more seriously and anyone who has previous track experience, we highly recommend upgrading the tires. The factory PSS tires are a decade-old design that works well on the street but gets greasy within 1-2 laps with an experienced driver. The common experience with the Michelins is that the ABS constantly triggers on brake-heavy tracks which is hugely detrimental for driver confidence, and overall they are lacking in feel/response.
For a track toy, we recommend an 18" square setup which is rotatable (can swap front to rear). With the correct alignment, we find a staggered setup is not really necessary and the extra front tire combined with the camber gained on our stage 1 package makes for a formidable setup. With around 400hp even in stock form, most 300 treadwear tires aren't going to cut it so we recommend at least a 220 treadwear option.

(Option 1) TSW Imatra: This flow formed wheel is available in satin dark blue or matte black. The 18x9.5 +22 sizing is perfect for a Supra as it can clear the front suspension without spacers whilst still providing a wider track width front and rear. Front wheels stick out 16mm more than stock and rear wheels stick out 12mm more than stock. At just 20lbs per wheel, it offers a great performance value for the money. While we run forged wheels on our shop car, these come in at less than half the price allowing more budget for tires!
(Option 2) Fast FC08: A flow formed wheel made popular by many FWD sports cars like the Civic Type R and GTI. Now available in carbon bronze and gloss black. These wheels weigh in at 20 lbs in 18x9.5 +38 sizing, however will need 15mm spacers and extended bolts (included) all around to properly fit the 275 tires.
Nankang CRS: Available in 275/40-18, these 200 treadwear track tires offer excellent grip and have been delivering impressive track times to many local HPDE drivers. A popular choice among time attack drivers. This is about the biggest tire you can fit on the front without upgrading coilovers.
Autel TPMS Sensors and Installation: We always recommend TPMS sensors for Supra tires as the iDrive screen is capable of showing tire pressure AND temperature. This is a great indicator to tell you when your tires might be starting to get greasy and when you should let them cool down a bit. Not only do they aid with safety, but sensors are great for the data they provide as well.
