Thinkware's latest flagship dash cam offers 4K front recording and 2K rear recording. The video quality is a noticeable step up in terms of sharpness and low light visibility even compared to the already excellent Thinkware Q800 Pro. They've added some new features as well such as 5GHz wifi, as Thinkware's wifi download speeds have been a bit of an issue in the past. Given the larger 4K files, the faster wifi is much appreciated. Furthermore, they've added an optional radar module which allows for motion detection from the front of the vehicle with a fraction of the energy required. With the optional radar module and the Thinkware iVolt battery pack, one can expect several days of recording on a full charge!
The U1000 simply raises the bar compared to other 4K parking mode dash cam systems. Compared to our second best-selling 4K dash cam, the Blackvue DR900X-2CH, the U1000 offers a few advantages that make it our top pick.
