Despite having some of the best in active and passive safety technology, the 2020 Volvo XC90 T8 doesn't have a built-in dash cam system to record activities on the road. While the car can definitely keep you safe in an accident, the process of claiming insurance and potential legal headaches can be put at ease with dash cam footage. For this XC90, the customer wanted a comprehensive parking mode security system that wouldn't damage the car's battery or electronics. We hardwired a Thinkware iVolt BAB50 which not only provides longer recording times in parking mode, but also prevents drain on the car's battery and discharge related premature wear. For the dash cam, we installed the tried and true Thinkware F800 Pro, perhaps the most reliable 2-channel parking mode dash cam on the market. This camera offers buffered parking mode via motion detection or impact detection. It also records in 1080P front and rear with Sony sensors to deliver excellent low light video.
