6th gen 4Runners feature a new body styling which is significantly different than the 5th gen. Also different were the wheel and tire offsets and hub bore. This 4Runner was looking for a new set of wheels, and FastHD wheels had a style and fitment the customer liked.
The factory wheel size for this specific 6th gen was 20x8.0" +45 mounted on 265/55R20 Yokohama all seasons, and through our expertise on fitment we went with FastHD's Summit in 18x8.0" +25 (hubcentric too!) mounted on 265/75R18 Cooper 3PMSF AT tires. Overall a ~20mm more aggressive stance and larger sidewall for better ride over road imperfections AND the new set up shaved ~15lb per corner while still maintaining a sufficient load rating for the truck. 3PMSF tires also outperform the factory Yokohama all seasons in the winter.
With the 6th gen, it's important to note wheel offset, even with a skinny 265 tire and a +25 offset, this combo does stick slightly past the fenders. 0 offset wheels from previous 4Runner/Taco generations will not work that well with the new generation truck.
