Our customer upgraded from a 570S to an Artura, and wanted to move the camera setup we installed over. Initially installed was Thinkware's Q200 1CH paired with an interior infrared camera (IR cam), hooked up to Thinkware's iVolt mini external battery pack.
There were a couple of problems that needed solutions:
- Customer was considering a different 2CH solution, but the Artura Spider has a retractable hard top, and a powered rear window. So unfortunately a proper rear camera was impossible. We reinstalled the 1CH front camera, with the IR cam and battery pack.
- Where would the external battery pack go? In the 570S we put the battery pack behind the passenger seat but it was not optimal as any larger or taller passengers would cause the battery pack to contact the back of the cabin. Our tech had a genius solution to rig the battery pack in the footwell area, hanging off the ceiling of the dash. It now holds tight, and no issue with it falling and hitting the passenger's feet.
This customer knows dashcams are crucial when buying cars of this caliber, so giving us the time to figure this information out allowed them to drive with peace of mind knowing that they will have recordings in case anything happens on the road.
