We installed a front and rear dash cam on this gorgeous top of the line Mazda CX-5. This car has the more powerful turbo motor and is one of the sportiest crossovers in its class. We paired it with the powerful VIOFO A129 Pro Duo which has a 4K front camera and 1080P rear camera. This camera was hardwired using the 3-wire Viofo hardwire kit which gives the camera parking mode capabilities.
From an install perspective, the compact size of the front camera is nice, however the rear camera USB is still a flawed design which we noticed since the 1080P A129 Duo. The main issue with this rear camera is that the rear cable goes straight out of the back so the camera must be mounted lower down than we typically do in order to clear the plastic trim. Not only that but the stiffer plug and thicker cable further makes the rear camera more visible. For that reason, we always consult with a customer before camera placement with the VIOFO 2CH systems.
As far as dash cam systems go though, the A129 Pro Duo is truly a value leader with very high resolution recording, WiFi, GPS, and parking mode capabilities. There's not much besides from Cloud that this camera doesn't offer.
