Many late model vehicles have LCD screens to show the rear view camera but these systems offer essentially the same audio functions as basic non-LCD screen factory receivers. Aftermarket receivers typically offer the following features which are great for audio upgrades:
- Multi-band EQ allowing for more fine tuning than typical "bass" and "treble" adjustments found on factory decks
- USB and FLAC file support for the high resolution audio files
- RCA Preouts perfect for adding aftermarket amplifiers and subwoofers
The JVC KW-M24BT we installed in this Outlander offers these features as well as USB input for video files (e.g., MP4) which is great for movie playback. To make this system work, we used parts from Axxess which allow for backup camera retention, steering wheel control retention, and factory amplifier retention. With newer vehicles, these modules and harnesses must be factored into the installation costs, contact us if you have any questions about the different parts needed to complete an installation on your car!
