This Ford F-650 came to us for a double din head unit and backup camera. With trucks like this, standard backup cameras will be too short and not necessarily suitable for the heavy duty application. We installed a truck style infrared camera under the flat deck as it would not be possible to mount it to the deck itself since it moves and tilts to touch the ground. We also tinted the rear window to reduce headlight glare at night.
This head unit supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as the standard bluetooth and USB functions. As this is a work vehicle, having the convenience of Google Maps will be a lifesaver for our customer. Of course with a vehicle this big and virtually no rear visibility, a rear view camera is almost a must.
