With a large 3-row family crossover like the Chevrolet Traverse, better infotainment and a backup camera are must-haves. Small children are virtually invisible through the rear window of this SUV so the backup camera is a safety feature we definitely advocate for. To replace the factory radio, special attention has to be paid with GM's OnStar feature and special modules like Axxess's GMOS or iDatalink's Maestro RR are needed to prevent errors. The nice thing about these modules is that they also provide reverse outputs to trigger and power the backup cam.

The double din head unit is an ideal screen for displaying the backup cam due to the positioning on the center console. We prefer using these head unit screens as opposed to rearview mirror integrated screens which can get washed out in bright sunlight.
