Our customer had their BMW i8 vandalized in their condo parking lot and wanted a solution that would help catch these sorts of incidents. We installed a Blackvue DR900S-2CH and B-124 Battery in this car to provide one of the best parking and driving surveillance systems available. This dash cam has 4K front resolution and 1080P rear resolution for great video quality in both day and night conditions. The camera uses H.265 compression which keeps the 4K file size manageable without overwhelming the memory card. The risk with ultra high resolutions is that the large file size fills up the memory card too quickly and that important files could get overwritten by insignificant ones.
For this BMW i8 we hardwired the battery pack to the fuse box underneath the glove box. The battery was placed in the storage pocket in the passenger footwell. The rear camera on the glass panel behind the rear seat
