The new Audi A5 Sportback is growing in popularity due to the style and practicality it offers over a traditional sedan like the A4. This hatchback design is especially tricky when it comes to installing a rear dash cam as access to the hatch through the factory grommets is tight and awkward. The headliner virtually has to be dropped to get proper access and even then it isn't a simple affair.
Those attempting this install may also want to take note of the front camera position. As the camera lens on the Thinkware FA200 is offset to the right, this camera position means the sensor behind the mirror does not obstruct the view of the front camera. Power for the hardwire kit can be tapped from the fuse box on the driver's side footwell which is also a little tricky to get to compared to previous Audi generations.
