The owner of this VW Golf Wagon contacted us as they wanted a new headunit before their road trip. Per requests, the customer wanted Apple CarPlay capability, and good mic quality for any phone calls.
We looked no further and recommended the Pioneer DMH-1700NEX stereo unit. This unit boasts features such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (linked through USB), a decently sized 6.8" capacitive touchscreen, and is SiriusXM ready.
The install was straightforward, and the new unit with the dash kit fits in the centre column neatly. The new stereo breathes some new life into the vehicle as the factory unit was starting to show its age. The customer did not request it, but the Pioneer unit we installed is also backup camera ready.
