In the late 90's, headlight technology in North American market vehicles hadn't really improved for a few decades. Despite being a luxury branded vehicle, the 9007 halogen bulbs that came on this QX4 left much to be desired when driving at night or when off-roading. The D6 replacement LED bulbs are 3-4x brighter than the factory units making for a huge upgrade.
The Bose head unit that came on this Infiniti sounds okay but certainly doesn't offer the modern connectivity that drivers look for today. We installed the Pioneer MVH-2400NEX head unit which has an excellent 7" display and fits in perfectly on this QX4. This receiver has bluetooth, USB, and most importantly Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. With it's variable colour illumination set to green, it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb on this 20+ year old SUV.
These small upgrades go a long way in improving the enjoyment a driver has with their vehicle. Seeing better and being less distracted at night are super important for safety and we think it's money well spent. We also installed a Thinkware FA200 1CH dash cam which is completely hidden behind the rearview mirror. All-in-all, these three products added up to about $1000 installed.
